Koi Kaze 7/10

I'm not exaggerating when I say, this show grossed me out from the 1st to 13th episode. So why am I giving this anime a 7 out of 10? Because the mangaka did an amazing job creating realistic characters and an engaging story.

"Koi Kaze" tells the story of Koshiro Saeki, a 27-year-old man who is going through a difficult period in his life. He has recently divorced, and his career is at a standstill. Feeling adrift, he returns to his hometown to live with his family temporarily. There he meets a high school girl named Nanoka Kohinata. As they spend time together, they form a close bond. However, it's revealed they are actually half-siblings who have never met before.

Incest happens in this world, could be your friend, your neighbor or maybe even yourself, who has those feelings that develop into more than just plain fantasies. The main characters are ashamed and feel guilty until the "end" too, but they can't help it, they're in love, and that feeling is stronger and more important to them than anything else.

To be clear, they weren't raised together, but the brother is 12 years older, which makes it more sick since he's the adult and should know better than to pursue a teenager (I mean, what is he doing to her future?). Anyway, the makers of this anime went to directions, most wouldn't dare to go. As disturbing as the whole incest thing is, it's so well done, you can't help but watch and find out what happens next to these siblings (you can really call this a character study at times, it's fascinating), and wonder how people (parents, school friends, co-workers) around them would react, when they find out. We see a glimpse of it, and I liked how that played out.

I really can't decide if the end made me happy or sad. Maybe because we don't know if the main characters are happy or sad at the end. I will say though, the brother is the bad guy here, taking advantage of an inexperienced girl because his life is not what he wanted it to be. Even if the sister is in love with him, they portrayed that as a good excuse to just go ahead with the relationship. At this point, I can't help but wonder if the creator has a pervy kink. So yeah... watch it if you like weird romance stories, but if you get easily offended, stay away from this one.
