Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun aka Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun 8/10

This is not your typical romance anime, this is a gag anime pretending to be a romance anime. I enjoyed this funny take on one-sided crush that develops into more, one episode after another. The story is about high school girl Sakura, who's in love with her classmate Nozaki, who's secretly a shoujo mangaka. He is oblivious to the fact that she isn't his fan but in love with him, so he makes her his assistant, and hilarity ensues.

I love the chemistry between Sakura and Nozaki, but the supporting cast is fabulous as well. For example, there is the other manga assistant Mikoto (red hair) and Yuu (blue hair), who is a girl but known as ladykiller (she gets all the attention Mikoto longs for). Along with the rest of the quirky schoolmates "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun" is a fun anime, the run time basically flies by, and you never get bored (the opening is also amazing, I never skipped it!).

Another thing I liked is learning more about how mangas are made, it's not a mayor plot point, but for the audiences who love manga and anime, this is a cool extra. Another portion of the plot revolves around making Nozaki more sociable, he in turn uses all his new experiences to make his manga better, and we notice the similarities in Sakura and the heroine of his manga - is he starting to fall for the little assistant? Well, you'll have to read the manga to find out...
