I like the synopsis for the anime, "Cute girls doing cute things in cute ways". Ichigo Mashimaro aka Strawberry Marshmallow is basically a gag manga/anime with five girls doing everyday life things together, but I must say, this one always stood out to me amongst the many slice of live anime with cute girls, thanks to the two main characters Nobue and Miu.
Over the years Ichigo Mashimaro has become a cult classic for loli lovers, the show is innocent though and mostly concentrates on jokes and wholesome atmospheres. I love Miu, everything she does ensues chaos, her best friend Chika has to play the grown up, since her older sister Nobue is just as much a mess as Miu. Matsuri and Ana usually end up as victims of those two's crazy antics.
One episode they're fighting over who the tallest member is, the next they make a trip to an onsen, the next Nobue gets a job and the girls make fun of her uniform, then they're back at home trying to not fall asleep doing homework. So, it's not really about any meaningful plot, the magic lies in the interactions between the girls and the overly Japanese style jokes. Before you know it, you watched all episodes and had a blast spending them with these funny characters doing nothing but nonsense or being a nuisance to society. If you like some fanservice without ecchi, this might be a good fit for you.
